About the event
This is not a traditional gala. Junta Pa’l Pueblo is an evening designed to celebrate, connect, and explore what we can build together for this community.
This October, we mark a milestone that defines Junta’s heart: 25 years of Big Turtle Village. What began in 2001, as a 5-day free, bilingual, sleep-away nature camp for New Haven’s youth at no cost to families has evolved to include an after-school program and a 6-week summer day camp.
Twenty-five years of campers. Twenty-five years of memories.
Twenty-five years of proof that when a community invests in its children, everything changes.
Hosted by New Haven’s own comedian Justin Silva, the evening will honor this legacy and invite the community to help build its next chapter.
